If you encounter the following situations, you will need a headboard: - If the studs do not line up with the pre-drilled holes in the rail. - If there is a doorway trim and the total depth of the door and trim is greater than 2 inches.

You will need a minimum of 6 inches of space above the doorway for this kit to fit correctly, measured from the top of your door to the ceiling or crown molding.

This kit can work with doors of any thickness. The included bolts support a thickness range of 1 3/8 inches to 1 3/4 inches, but you can adjust for thicker doors by countersinking the bolt heads or using longer bolts.
